About the Editor

Based in LA and born in DC, Alex
got his start studying vérité editing at the University of Chicago, under original members of Kartemquin Films. He went on to cut two docs in two years which both ended up on ROGER EBERT’s annual "Top Ten Documentaries" lists as films that struck Ebert as "subtle", "human", and "necessary".

Since relocating to Los Angeles, Alex has edited for Emmy, Peabody, and Academy Award-winning directors, including Fisher Stevens, Lauren Greenfield, Josh Greenbaum, Clay Tweel, Ben Steinbauer, Kestrin Pantera, Emily Kassie, and Neil Berkeley. Alex's TV editing has been nominated multiple times by the Television Academy, and his feature film work has screened at Tribeca, HotDocs, TIFF, and SXSW.

Pivotal projects include the Showtime series SUPERVILLAIN, produced by Brian Grazer; THE LINCOLN PROJECT, produced by Amy Redford; Netflix's Sports Emmy-nominated WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS; and Hulu's meta-comedy hit TOO FUNNY TO FAIL, starring Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, and Dana Carvey. On the scripted side, Alex has edited shorts and indie features, including MOTHER'S LITTLE HELPERS, which sold to Gravitas at SXSW'19. Alex is currently considering both union and non-union opportunities, scripted or unscripted, LA-based or remote. Please reach out for avails.
