Originally from Washington D.C., Alex
got his start in Chicago (SOX not cubs) cutting two documentaries in two years, SCRAPPERS and WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH KANSAS? which both ended up on ROGER EBERT’s "Top Ten Documentaries" lists of 2009 and 2010, respectively.
Since relocating to Los Angeles, he has
edited for the likes of HULU, CBS, and HBO on shows including WITNESS and
BEHIND THE MASK, often times for Emmy and Academy-Award nominated directors.
He has cut everything from feature films to unscripted TV, to official trailers and music videos; many of which have enjoyed festival runs, critical accolades, and wide distribution.
His editing philosophy can be summed up as follows: 1) Thank You for shooting all that nice footage!! 2) It can always be better. 3) Story trumps spectacle. Everything else varies... which is the joy of editing. Alex holds a B.A. in Cinema Studies from THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO, and is currently represented by Worldwide Production Agency in Hollywood, CA
